  3. To Michael….how wonderful to read your update. I remember chatting with you last summer at the ashram when you were just thinking about the Ottawa youth project and here you are totally immersed and experienced. Bravo! Keep up the good work.

I will be returning to the ashram in May for a few weeks, and hopefully doing the YDC in January 2010.

    Best wishes,

    Carol

  4. The love in sharing the rap song and television brought tears to my eyes. You can never underestimate the power in those simple gestures.

  6. Jessica, thank-you for sharing your challenges & breakthroughs! I feel like I’ve never quite described that personality aspect to myself so lucidly (and believe me I am dealing with the exact same one here at the ashram!) – “Was I offering enough classes? How many kids could I get to come to a homeless shelter yoga class, and, when they didn’t come, what did that say about me?” Stepping out of some of my responsibilities and busy-ness here has been a challenge that is offering me the gift of seeing this insidious type of helpfulness more clearly. I’m learning that being truly considerate is a different thing from trying to hold and do everything myself.
    om om to you!

  7. Yes indeed. Thank you Jessica for your clarity about the program’s evolution and your own growth. And for your comments too Claire. I have been taking some steps forward in dealing with this over-responsibility trait too and it feels so good. You are so fortunate to be learning and facing it at this stage in your lives.
Much Light to you both, and all in Ottawa. Your work is so inspiring and wonderful.

  10. This is so awesome!! I’m glad the video finally worked for me, it was worth the wait. I especially like the very end with the 2 anchors feeling relaxed in the tree pose. Nice work Michael and Jessica… Om Om!

  11. Reading about your class, caused my heart to open beyond description today. I am touched by your questions to the kids, and their answers that catalyze each encounter to bring forth authenticity and loving connection, to the yoga class.
Happy New Year of the Metal Tiger. Keep up the spirit of good works.
